Flood Situation in Tripura Must Be Declared As National Disaster: Congress

Tripura State Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha demanded that the flood situation in the state must be declared a national disaster.
He said this while visiting the refugee camp of Dr. BR Ambedkar School in Jaynagar, Agartala on Thursday.
On this day, some relief materials were handed over to the camp by the Pradesh Congress.
Ashish Kumar Saha demanded the assistance of the administration as much as possible to the flood victims, besides he said that the state government should come forward to help the flood victims as much as possible by declaring the flood situation in the state as a national calamity.
He also demanded to provide financial assistance to repair the houses after the flood.
On the other hand, he said that Pradesh Congress president Mallika Arjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have already expressed concern about the situation in the state on their X handles.
The state president has conveyed to them through a letter that the central government has requested the central leadership of the Congress party to take up the situation in the state.
Ashish Kumar Saha spoke to local corporator Janhvi Das Chowdhury while visiting the refugee camp. On the other hand, Corporator Janhvi Das Chowdhury said that more than five hundred people have taken shelter in this school. The administration has arranged everything from their food to medicines. Besides, support is being given as much as possible at the party level as wel.
