From Pahalgaon to Pakistan: India’s Befitting Reply Lauded in Tripura House

Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Friday moved a congratulatory resolution in the Tripura Legislative Assembly lauding the success of Operation Sindoor in curbing militancy and condemning the brutal Pahalgaon massacre.

Addressing the House, Dr. Saha recalled the horrific incident of April 22, 2025, when Pakistan-backed extremists killed 26 civilians, including tourists, in Kashmir’s Pahalgaon. “This massacre shook the conscience of the nation. I strongly condemn the brutal killings and express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families,” he said.

The Chief Minister underlined Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s firm stand after the massacre, reminding the Assembly of his assurance that India would never tolerate terrorism. He highlighted how, on May 7, 2025, the Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor, a coordinated strike that destroyed terrorist bases and training camps across the border in Pakistan. According to reports, a large number of Pakistan-trained militants were neutralized in the operation.

Dr. Saha further noted that Pakistan’s retaliatory shelling was met with decisive counterattacks by India’s Army, Navy and Air Force, damaging several Pakistani military installations. “The operation was completed successfully without civilian casualties in Pakistan,” he added.

Praising the armed forces, the Chief Minister said, “Every attack by Pakistan has been repulsed with courage and skill by our soldiers. This operation proves the strength of India’s defence system and reflects the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi.”

He stressed that India remains committed to peace and non-violence but will never hesitate to deliver a befitting response to terrorism and any threat to national security.

The Assembly, through the resolution, extended heartfelt congratulations to the Prime Minister, Defence Minister, National Security Advisor, the Chiefs of Defence Services, the BSF, and all jawans safeguarding the nation. Dr. Saha described Operation Sindoor as “a historic milestone in India’s fight against terrorism” and a testament to India’s growing military might.
