Governor reviews schemes in North Tripura villages

Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Tuesday visited several border villages in North Tripura district to review the progress of various central and state government development schemes.
Beginning his tour at Bhandarima, a border village under Dasda block, the Governor interacted with local residents to understand their concerns. He later visited Khasnampara, a Bru rehabilitation point under the Bhandarima Village Committee, marking his first visit to the settlement. The Bru community warmly welcomed him and expressed happiness over his outreach.
During the interaction, the Governor handed over cheques to members of the Yapri Dal Nangma and Tangsaoth Self-Help Groups. He encouraged residents to take advantage of government welfare schemes, including health and social pension benefits.
Emphasizing education, he urged parents to enroll their children in Eklavya Model Residential Schools and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, where free education is provided from Classes VI to XII.
The Governor advised self-help groups to diversify their products and access bank loans to enhance self-reliance. He also motivated women and youth to gain skills under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana for self-employment opportunities.
Governor Reddy was accompanied by his Secretary U.K. Chakma, North Tripura District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, and officials from various departments during the visit.
