Halt in Bilonia of Kanchanjungha Express is Important: Tripura Govt to Vaishnaw

The Tripura Government has demanded that the Kanchanjungha Express be halted at Bilonia, the headquarters of South Tripura District.

State Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury has written a letter in this regard to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

State Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, in a letter sent to the Railway Minister via mail on Tuesday, July 1, raised various arguments.

He also congratulated the Railway Minister for extending the running limit of 13173, 13174 Down and Up Kanchanjungha Express up to Sabroo, the southern station of the state.

The state transport minister in a letter to the railway minister mentioned Bilonia as the South Tripura district headquarters of the state. It has special importance in terms of location and strategy.

It would make more sense to pull the train to Sabroom in the South Tripura instead of Agartala, the state capital  if Kanchanjungha halt at Bilonia station.

As a result, the people of the vast area of South Tripura District including it's Headquarters Bilonia Sub-division will be benefited, he said.

The people of the area adjacent to Bilonia sub-division like Sonamura sub-division, Sepahijala district will be benefited. Businessmen, tourists including students will be benefited and it will help in the development of tourism in the state as well, Chowdhury mentioned.

In his letter to the Union Railway Minister as the Minister of State Tourism along with the Transport Department, Mr Chowdhury highlighted the additional benefits for tourism and tourists and expressed hope that due importance will be given to the demand to halt of Kanchanjungha Express at Bilonia and necessary action will be taken in the larger interest
