Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has been fined 30% of his match fees for provocative gestures towards Indian fans during the September 21 clash against India. Rauf’s actions included the ‘6-0’ gesture and mimicking a falling plane, which drew the attention of the ICC following a complaint from the BCCI.
Sahibzada Farhan was let off with a warning for his ‘gunshot’ celebration, explaining it as a Pakhtun tribal custom.
Both players appeared before match referee Richie Richardson, accompanied by team manager Naveed Akram Cheema, after initially pleading not guilty in writing.
Meanwhile, India captain Suryakumar Yadav was cautioned by the ICC to avoid political statements after dedicating India’s group-stage win to families of Pahalgam terror attack victims, following a PCB complaint.
