Hathras: 122 Dead in Stampede After Satsang

There was a stampede among the devotees who had come to attend Bhole Baba's satsang in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, in which 122 people died. 

CMO Dr. Umesh Kumar Tripathi has confirmed the death toll. All the dead bodies have been sent to Etah Medical College. It is being said that the condition of the devotees deteriorated due to the scorching heat in the satsang. Many people who had come to attend the satsang narrated their ordeal.

A woman who had come to attend the satsang said, “Many of us had come together in a car to attend the satsang. But now we don't know how many there were in total, but I can say one thing that there were many people with us. Everyone was climbing over each other. They were pushing each other, in which many people got crushed. When we were leaving after the satsang was over, people started pushing each other. They started crushing each other.”

At the same time, a girl named Jyoti who had come to participate in the satsang also said about the situation there in detail. She said, "We had come to participate in the satsang with many people. There were a lot of people there. Everything was fine in the beginning, but after the satsang was over, everyone started climbing over each other. We did not know how all this happened. We were not able to find a place to get out. Many people had participated in the satsang, in which many people have died."

Apart from this, people who participated in the satsang have also expressed anger over the chaos in the hospital. People say that there is a pile of dead bodies in the hospital premises, but not a single doctor is ready to treat anyone. There is only one doctor in the hospital. Expressing their anger, people said that all this happened due to the negligence of the police administration. There was a jam on the road since last night. The police cleared the jam, due to which this accident happened. People said that there is a pile of dead bodies in the hospital, but there is only one doctor in the hospital.

People said that there is no oxygen in the hospital. In such a situation how will they be able to treat anyone. All the officials from police to doctors are being negligent. No one is ready to listen to us.

Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Singh told the media, "A satsang was being held in a village in Hathras district near Sikandrarao, in which many people died due to a stampede. Many were injured. All the injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Bhole Bala's satsang was going on there, in which many people had come to participate. Information was received that this accident happened due to a stampede. This is a very sad incident."

CM Yogi has also reacted to this accident. He expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased in the accident in Hathras district. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. He has instructed the district administration officials to immediately take the injured to the hospital and provide them proper treatment and expedite the relief work on the spot. He has instructed to investigate the causes of the incident under the leadership of ADG Agra and Commissioner Aligarh
