Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) working president Hemant Soren took oath as the 13th Chief Minister of Jharkhand at Raj Bhavan. Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Hemant Soren. This is his third term as the Chief Minister of the state.

The JMM had earlier said that Hemant Soren would take oath as chief minister on July 7 after Governor CP Radhakrishnan invited him to form government in the state, but later the JMM-led alliance decided that Hemant Soren will take oath on Thursday (today).

Before the swearing-in, Hemant Soren's wife Kalpana Soren posted on X and said that time will change and we will appear before you again. Democracy has finally won. The injustice that started on 31 January 2024 has now started getting justice in the true sense.

He held this post for 4 years 188 days, but he was arrested earlier this year in a money laundering case.

Before his arrest, Hemant had resigned from the post of CM. Recently he was released on bail. Now he has taken oath as CM for the third time.

According to PTI, Jharkhand Congress President Rajesh Thakur said that a meeting of alliance partners was held at Hemant Soren's residence, this decision was taken in this meeting.

Champai Soren resigned from the post of Chief Minister on Wednesday (July 3) and Hemant Soren staked claim to form the government. A delegation of the JMM-led alliance met Governor Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.

The delegation led by Hemant Soren included Congress state president Rajesh Thakur, RJD minister Satyanand Bhokta and CPI (ML)-L MLA Vinod Singh. Gandey MLA and Hemant Soren's wife Kalpana Soren was also part of the delegation
