IND Beats Zimbabwe By 42 Runs in T20I. Win The Series 4-1

After Sanju Samson's half-century, India defeated Zimbabwe by 42 runs in the fifth and final T20 on Sunday due to the excellent performance of the bowlers led by Mukesh Kumar.

With the fourth consecutive win, India won the series 4-1. Chasing India's target of 168 runs, Zimbabwe's team was reduced to 125 runs in 18.3 overs in front of Mukesh's (four wickets for 22 runs) career best bowling. Shivam Dubey (two wickets for 25 runs) bowled economically and took two wickets while Washington Sundar (one wicket for seven runs), Abhishek Sharma (one wicket for 20 runs) and Tushar Deshpande (one wicket for 25 runs) got one wicket each.

For Zimbabwe, Dion Myers scored the highest 34 runs while openers Thadivnashe Murumani and Faraz Akram contributed 27-27 runs.

Samson had earlier scored 58 runs in 45 balls with four sixes and a four and also added 65 runs for the fourth wicket with Riyan Parag (22) as India scored 167 runs for the loss of six wickets.

Dubey finally played a quick innings of 26 runs in 12 balls with two sixes and two fours. Blessing Muzarabani was the most successful bowler for Zimbabwe who took two wickets for 19 runs.

Team India's star batsman Shubman Gill was captaining the Indian cricket team for the first time in the Zimbabwe series. But he continued MS Dhoni's tradition even after winning the series.

After winning the series, he handed over the trophy to Tushar Deshpande, who was playing for Team India for the first time against Zimbabwe, as well as young Dhruv Jurel. This greatly increases the confidence of young players
