India–Malaysia Sign 11 MoUs, Boost Trade & Security

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned from a two-day official visit to Malaysia, during which India and Malaysia reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, including security, trade, technology, and culture.
Bilateral talks were held today between Prime Minister Modi and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Addressing the media after the talks, PM Modi delivered a firm message on terrorism, stating, “Our message on terrorism is very clear: no double standards, no compromise. India and Malaysia will work together against terrorism.”
Highlighting cultural ties between the two nations, PM Modi emphasized the importance of the Tamil language, noting that a shared love for Tamil culture connects India and Malaysia deeply.
Referring to the audio-visual cooperation agreement signed during the visit, he said, “I am confident that with the audio-visual agreement signed today, films and music, especially Tamil films, will bring our hearts even closer.”
The Prime Minister also described Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim as his “friend,” underscoring the warmth in bilateral relations.
PM Modi at 10th India–Malaysia CEO Forum
As part of his visit, Prime Minister Modi participated in the 10th India–Malaysia CEO Forum, where he interacted with four leading Malaysian industrialists. These included Petronas Chairman and Group CEO Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik, Berjaya Corporation Berhad Founder Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent, Khazanah Nasional Berhad Director Dato’ Amirul Faisal Wan Zahir, and Faison Electronics Founder Dato’ Pua Khein Seng.
The Prime Minister appreciated the growing business-to-business (B2B) engagement between the two countries and expressed satisfaction over the strong interest shown by Malaysian companies in India’s development journey.
