India Bids For Commonwealth Games 2030

India has officially placed its bid to host the Commonwealth Games 2030. Gujarat government's Sports Minister Harsh Sanghvi presented the proposal to the Commonwealth Sports in London on Friday. He informed that Ahmedabad has been chosen as the host city. The special thing is that 2030 will also be the 100th anniversary of the Commonwealth Games.

On this occasion Harsh Sanghvi said,

"The bid was presented on August 29 as National Sports Day is celebrated in India on this day. This day is celebrated to honour sports across the country as the birth anniversary of hockey wizard Major Dhyan Chand."

He further said, Ahmedabad will host the games on a compact city model, that is, sports venues, training facilities and accommodation of players will all be close to each other. This will provide a better experience to players, officials and spectators.

Harsh Sanghvi said that
"India's vision is Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Atithi Devo Bhava. There will be special emphasis on environmental protection and protection of human rights in the organization of the games."

On this occasion, Indian High Commissioner to Britain Vikram Doraiswami said, this bid will strengthen India's position as a major sports nation. According to him, big sporting events play an important role not only for the players but also for the development of infrastructure and international cooperation.

On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet had approved the Commonwealth bidding proposal. Earlier, on 14 August, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) had approved it. It will be decided at the end of November whether India will get the hosting or not.

After Canada's exit from the race, India's chances of hosting the 2030 Commonwealth Games have increased. Last month, a team led by Commonwealth Sport Director Darren Hall visited the venues in Ahmedabad.

Also had a meeting with the officials of Gujarat government.

Commonwealth Sport is the organization that decides to give hosting rights to a country.

India is also preparing to host the 2036 Olympic Games. In November last year, India had submitted its bid to host it.

The Olympic hosts for 2032 have been decided. The 2032 Olympics have been awarded to Brisbane, Australia. While the 2028 Olympics are to be held in Los Angeles.

India has also hosted 2 Asian Games . India has hosted 3 multi-sports games so far. These include the Asian Games of 1951 and 1982 and the Commonwealth Games of 2010.

In 2010, the Commonwealth Games were held in Delhi.
