INDIA Bloc Sweeps By Polls In 13 Seats of 7 States

The results of assembly by-elections held on 13 seats in 7 states including Madhya Pradesh and Bihar were declared on Saturday. Out of these, India won 10 seats and NDA won 2 seats.

Voting was held on all the seats on July 10. Congress has won 4 seats, TMC has won 4 seats and AAP-DMK has won 1 seat each. BJP has won 2 seats. An independent candidate has won one seat.

Out of these 13 seats, BJP had 3 seats, Congress had 2, TMC had 1, JDU had 1, AAP had 1, DMK had 1, BSP had 1 and Independent had 3 seats.

On the results, Rahul Gandhi said, 'The results of the by-elections have made it clear that the web of 'fear and confusion' woven by the BJP has been broken. Every section including farmers, youth, labourers want to establish the rule of justice by eradicating dictatorship completely. For the betterment of their lives and protection of the Constitution, the public is now completely standing with India. Jai Hindustan, Jai Samvidhaan.'

From NDA, BJP contested 11 out of 13 seats and JDU, PMK contested two others. Of these, BJP won only Amarwara seat in Madhya Pradesh and Hamirpur seat in Himachal Pradesh. JDU lost Rupauli seat in Bihar and PMK lost Vikravandi seat in Tamil Nadu.

From INDIA bloc, out of 13 seats Congress contested 9, RJD 1, CPI (M) 2 and DMK contested 1 seat. Congress won 4 seats. These include Dehra, Nalgarh seat in Himachal Pradesh and Badrinath, Mangalore seat in Uttarakhand. DMK won Vikravandi seat in Tamil Nadu.

AAP won the only seat in Punjab. Here BJP came second and Congress came third. Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) won 4 assembly seats in West Bengal. Last time BJP had 3 seats, but this time TMC snatched all three seats. Here TMC contested the election alone.

However, Congress wrote on its social media that AAP and Congress are part of the INDIA alliance - INDIA alliance has won 10 out of 13 seats. The party also wrote the names of AAP and Trinamool Congress along with the details of the seats in the seven states.
