India Crush Australia by 48 Runs, Seal Historic T20I Win at Gold Coast

Team India outclassed Australia by 48 runs in the fourth T20 International, recording their second-largest win ever over the Aussies and their biggest victory on home soil in T20Is.

Batting first after losing the toss, India posted 167 for 8 in 20 overs, powered by Shubman Gill’s 46 and a crucial 21 off 11 from Axar Patel at the death.

Axar later starred with the ball too, claiming 2 wickets for 20 runs and earning the Player of the Match award.

Australia, chasing 168, were bundled out for 119 in 18.2 overs. Washington Sundar was the standout performer, delivering a sensational spell of 3 wickets for just 3 runs, while Shivam Dube and Axar Patel picked up two apiece.

This 48-run triumph surpassed India’s previous biggest win against Australia at home (by 37 runs in Adelaide, 2016). The overall record remains the 73-run victory in Mirpur, 2014

Washington Sundar completed 50 T20I wickets, reaching the milestone by dismissing Adam Zampa.

Jasprit Bumrah remains one shy of 100 T20I wickets — India’s second-highest tally after Arshdeep Singh (105).

India now lead the five-match series 2-1. The first match ended in a draw; Australia took the second before India bounced back in the third and fourth.
