India registered their first victory in the Super 8 stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, delivering a commanding 72-run triumph over Zimbabwe on Thursday. With this emphatic win, South Africa secured qualification for the semi-finals from Super 8 Group 1.

After winning the toss at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza opted to field first. India responded with a formidable batting display, amassing 256 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs.
