India Stick With Same XI for Delhi Test; Sai Sudarshan Gets Another Chance

Team India’s bowling coach Ryan ten Doeschate confirmed that the playing XI for the second Test against West Indies in Delhi will remain unchanged. The match will begin at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on October 10, following India’s massive innings-and-140-run victory in Ahmedabad.

“The pitch looks dry, and pacers might not get much help,” said Doeschate. “It’s too early to comment, but it seems like a typical Delhi surface.”

Doeschate emphasized that the management is backing Sai Sudarshan at No. 3, while Dhruv Jurel remains a strong contender after his recent century. “Sai is mentally strong and just needs to relax and focus. We want to prepare him for the future,” he said.

He also highlighted India’s focus on developing a seam-bowling all-rounder, saying Nitish will continue to get opportunities to adapt to home conditions before performing abroad.

On the other side, West Indies head coach Darren Sammy admitted that the team is struggling with a confidence crisis. “Poor performance has spread like cancer in our system. My priority now is to strengthen the players’ mindset,” he remarked.
