India outclassed Namibia by a commanding 93-run margin in the 18th fixture of the T20 World Cup, registering their second successive triumph of the tournament and ascending to the summit of the Group A standings.
Opting to bat first after losing the toss on Thursday, India compiled a formidable 209 for 9.
However, the innings concluded on a turbulent note, with the side surrendering five wickets for a mere four runs in a dramatic late collapse.
Ishan Kishan anchored the innings with a fluent 61, while Hardik Pandya contributed a brisk 52 to consolidate the total. Namibia skipper Gerhard Erasmus spearheaded the bowling effort with an impressive four-wicket haul.
In pursuit of a daunting 210-run target, Namibia faltered under sustained pressure and were dismissed for 116 in 18.2 overs.
Varun Chakraborty orchestrated the bowling assault with three scalps, while Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya claimed two wickets apiece.
Lauren Steenkamp emerged as Namibia’s top scorer with 29 runs, but his effort proved insufficient to avert a comprehensive defeat.
