India Women Seal Series with Dominant Win in Third T20I Against Sri Lanka

India Women registered a commanding victory over Sri Lanka in the third T20I at Thiruvananthapuram on Friday, clinching an unassailable 3–0 lead in the five-match series.

After winning the toss, India opted to bowl and restricted Sri Lanka to 112 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs at the Greenfield Stadium. The Sri Lankan innings began steadily, with no wickets falling in the first four overs, but momentum was lost soon after. Captain Chamari Atapattu managed just 3 runs off 12 balls, while Harshitha Samarawickrama was dismissed for 2. Hasini Perera top-scored with 25, but Sri Lanka slipped from 45 for 4 to 98 for 7, eventually finishing on a modest total.

Renuka Singh starred with the ball for India, picking up four wickets, while Deepti Sharma claimed three to dismantle the Sri Lankan batting line-up.

In reply, India chased down the target with ease, reaching 113 for 2 in just 13.2 overs. Smriti Mandhana was dismissed early for 1, trapped LBW by Kavisha Dilhari, and Jemimah Rodrigues scored 9 before falling in the eighth over. Opener Shefali Verma, however, dominated the chase with an unbeaten 79, registering a fine half-century. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur provided solid support with an unbeaten 21 as the duo guided India to a comfortable win.

Kavisha Dilhari claimed both Indian wickets, while the rest of the Sri Lankan bowlers went wicketless.

India had earlier won the first T20I by 8 wickets and the second by 7 wickets. The fourth and fifth matches of the series will be played on December 28 and December 30 respectively, both in Thiruvananthapuram.
