US–Israeli air operations against Iran have entered a second consecutive day, further deepening regional volatility. Concurrently, authorities in the United Arab Emirates confirmed that an Indian national sustained injuries during an Iranian strike in Abu Dhabi.
The Embassy of India in the United Arab Emirates announced that it is in direct contact with the injured citizen, who is presently out of danger. The mission affirmed that comprehensive consular assistance is being extended.
The death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was officially confirmed earlier in the day, triggering widespread reactions across India. Demonstrations and mourning gatherings were reported in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and several other regions. In New Delhi, citizens assembled for candlelight vigils, while Shia Muslim communities observed solemn mourning rituals in Lucknow.
The escalating hostilities have also significantly disrupted civil aviation. Following the closure of substantial portions of Middle Eastern airspace, approximately 350 domestic flights operated by Indian carriers were cancelled on March 1. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has advised passengers to closely monitor their flight status for real-time updates amid the evolving situation.
