Intruder Killed Outside Trump’s Resort

In a significant security breach, an armed individual infiltrated the premises of US President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, prompting a swift and lethal response from the United States Secret Service early Sunday morning.

According to officials, the suspect was detected near the north gate of Mar-a-Lago at approximately 1:30 a.m., carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel container. Authorities stated that the individual drove through the entrance as another vehicle was exiting the property. Secret Service agents, assisted by a deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, confronted the intruder and opened fire, resulting in his death at the scene.

At the time of the incident, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were in Washington at the White House, and not present at the Florida estate.

Although officials initially withheld the suspect’s identity, several media organisations, including The Associated Press, identified him as 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin of North Carolina. Reports indicate that he had recently been reported missing by his family and may have travelled south before allegedly acquiring the firearm. Investigators recovered a gun case from his vehicle.

The episode underscores ongoing security concerns surrounding the president, who has been the subject of multiple alleged assassination plots in recent years.
