The 52nd match of the 17th season of IPL was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Royal Challengers Bangalore team managed to win the match against Gujarat Titans by 4 wickets.
In this match, there was a great performance from RCB in bowling, while in batting, captain Faf du Plessis played an inning of 64 runs.
After winning the toss and deciding to bowl first, RCB team bundled out Gujarat Titans' innings at just 147 in 19.3 overs.
After this, the opening pair of Kohli and Faf completely ensured the team's victory in this match by making a partnership of 92 runs for the first wicket. However, after losing their first wicket at the score of 92, RCB lost 6 wickets till the score of 116. From here Karthik and Swapnil returned after handling the innings and leading the team to victory.
Chasing the target of 147 runs, the pair of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis gave an aggressive start to the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. Together, both of them took the team's score beyond 50 runs on the first ball of the fourth over. Faf completed his half-century in just 18 balls in this match.
However, just before the end of the powerplay, he was out after scoring 64 runs in 23 balls with the help of 10 fours and 3 sixes. In this match between Kohli and Faf, a partnership of 92 runs was seen for the first wicket.
After this, Will Jacques, who had scored a century in the previous match, could not do anything special with the bat and returned to the pavilion on a personal score of 1 run.

From here, Dinesh Karthik and Swapnil Singh took over the innings and returned to give the team victory in 13.4 overs. While Karthik played an inning of 21 runs, Swapnil got 15 runs from his bat. While bowling for Gujarat, Joshua Little took 4 wickets while Noor Ahmed also managed to take 2 wickets.
If we talk about the innings of Gujarat Titans team in this match, a very disappointing performance was seen from their side. While Shubhman Gill managed to score only 2 runs, Wriddhiman Saha managed to score only 1 run.
At the end of the power play, Gujarat team could reach only 23 runs in which they lost 3 wickets. From here, a partnership was definitely seen between David Miller and Shahrukh Khan but at the score of 80, Gujarat lost its fourth wicket in the form of Miller and after this, continuous fall of wickets was seen from both the ends. Gujarat Titans lost the last 3 wickets of their innings consecutively and the entire team was reduced to a score of 147 in 19.3 overs.
Siraj, Yash Dayal and Vijaykumar Vyashak took 2-2 wickets in this match for RCB.
With this match being won unilaterally, RCB has now reached 7th position in the 17th season of IPL. After the defeat in this match, it has now become almost impossible for Gujarat Titans to make it to the playoffs.
This is Gujarat's 7th defeat in 11th match this season and it has reached 9th place in the points table. This is RCB's fourth win after 11 matches this season and their net run rate is -0.049.
