IPL: KKR Wins By Thrilling 1 Run Against Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore faced each other in the 36th match of IPL. In this match played at Eden Gardens, RCB had to face defeat by 1 run. 

Virat Kohli gave a fast start while chasing KKR's target of 223 runs. Kohli was controversially declared out after scoring 18 runs off 7 balls. After this, captain Faf Duplessis also got out after scoring 7 runs. 

However, Will Jacques 55 and Rajat Patidar brought the match back to the team by scoring 52 runs.

Sunil Narayan and Andre Russell made the match exciting by taking two wickets each in one over. Dinesh Karthik's bat also did not work. In the last over, the team needed 21 runs to win. 

Karn Sharma had given hope to the team by hitting three sixes on the ball of Mitchell Starc. However, after his dismissal, the match slipped away and RCB lost the match by 1 run.

On the basis of excellent innings by Shreyas Iyer (50) and Phil Salt (48), Kolkata Knight Riders set a target of 223 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 36th match of IPL 2024 on Sunday. KKR scored 222 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs.

Phil Salt and Sunil Narine (10) gave a bright start to KKR by making a partnership of 56 runs. Mohammed Siraj gave the first blow to KKR by getting Salt caught by Patidar in the fifth over. Then Yash Dayal put pressure on KKR by dismissing Sunil Narine (10) and Angriksh Raghuvanshi (3) in the sixth over of the innings.

After this, Venkatesh Iyer (16) and captain Shreyas Iyer (50) took the team close to 100 runs. Green gave the fourth blow to KKR by getting Venkatesh caught by Lomror at deep square leg. 

After this Rinku Singh (24) hit excellent shots, but Loki Ferguson ended his innings. Yash Dayal took an easy catch at short fine leg of Rinku Singh.

Shreyas Iyer also returned to the pavilion after completing his half-century, getting caught by Du Plessis off the ball of Cameron Green. Then Andre Russell remained unbeaten by scoring 27* and Ramandeep Singh 24* and took the team to a huge score. Yash Dayal and Cameron Green took two wickets each for RCB. Mohammad Siraj got one wicket.
