IPL Match 50: Sunrisers Hyderabad Beats Rajasthan Royals By One Run on Last Ball

The 50th match of IPL 2024 was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. In this match, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins has won the toss and decided to bat first. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 201 runs while batting first. In response, Rajasthan Royals team could score only 200 runs while chasing the target and lost the match by one run.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag batted brilliantly for Rajasthan Royals. But both these players could not lead the team to victory. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad team defeated Rajasthan Royals by one run in a breath-taking match. In this match, Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins has won the toss and decided to bat first. Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 201 runs while batting first.

In response, Rajasthan Royals team could score only 200 runs while chasing the target. Rajasthan Royals needed two runs to win on the last ball. Then Rovman Powell was at the crease and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took over the responsibility of bowling. He dismissed Powell on the last ball. In this way Hyderabad team was successful in winning the match. While chasing the target, this is the first defeat of Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024. 

Rajasthan Royals had a very bad start. When the team lost two wickets in the very first over. Captain Sanju Samson and explosive opener Jos Buttler could not even open their account. But after this Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag batted excellently. These two players made a partnership of 134 runs.

But after Jaiswal's dismissal, Rajasthan's batting disintegrated. He scored 67 runs. Parag contributed 77 runs. Shimron Hetmyer could not show anything special. He scored 13 runs. Rovman Powell scored 27 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took the maximum of three wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He was given the Player of the Match award. Pat Cummins and T Natarajan took two wickets each. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a slow start and the hosts could only score 37 runs for two wickets in the powerplay. Head opened Trent Boult's account with a four on the first ball of the match while Abhishek Sharma (12) welcomed Ravichandran Ashwin with a six. Anmolpreet Singh (05) hit a four on Avesh as soon as he came but Sandeep Sharma's very first ball was played into the hands of Yashasvi Jaiswal at mid-wicket.

Nitish took the team's score beyond 100 runs with two sixes and two fours on Chahal in the 13th over. Head completed his half-century in 39 balls with one run off Sandeep. 

Sunrajers Hyderabad recovered from a slow start against Rajasthan Royals to score 201 runs for three wickets with half-centuries from Nitish Kumar Reddy and Travis Head. Nitish played a career best inning of 76 not out with eight sixes and three fours in 42 balls.

Apart from adding 96 runs for the third wicket with Head (58 runs, 44 balls, three sixes, six fours), he also added 70 runs for the fourth wicket with Heinrich Klaasen (42 not out in 19 balls, three sixes, three fours). Made an unbreakable partnership.

Avesh Khan was the most successful bowler of Rajasthan Royals. He took two wickets for 39 runs. Yuzvendra Chahal, who made a place in India's T20 World Cup team, proved to be very expensive. He gave away 62 runs in four overs and did not get any success. Sandeep Sharma got one wicket.
