Iran Will Make Nuclear Bomb This Year: US Report

After the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on July 31, Iran has repeatedly said that it will take revenge from Israel.

Amidst Iran's attack on Israel, an American intelligence committee claims that Iran will make nuclear bomb this year.

The committee says that by the end of this year, Iran can be declared a nuclear weapon-rich country. This claim has been made by America's House Intelligence Committee. The head of this committee is Republican Party MP Mike Turner.

Turner has made this big claim on Iran in an interview on Sunday.

According to a Newsweek report, Turner said on CBS News' Face the Nation that Iran's nuclear capability is constantly increasing and US President Joe Biden is also responsible for promoting this progress.

He said that the Biden administration's policies have been flexible towards Iran. He did not set a red line to stop Iran's nuclear program, which has directly benefited Tehran's nuclear program.

Turner said that there are reports that Iran may declare itself a nuclear weapon state by the end of this year.

In 2015, Iran signed a nuclear deal with several countries, including the US, agreeing to stop its nuclear program in exchange for relief from sanctions. Donald Trump pulled the US out of the deal in 2018 after becoming president.

After this, Iran resumed work on its nuclear program. After Biden came to power in America, talks were held again on the deal but it could not succeed. Turner admitted that Iran restarted its nuclear program during Trump's time. However, he stressed that the fault lies with the Biden administration.

There have been many reactions to Turner's statement. US officials say that Iran does not have nuclear weapons but it has several nuclear facilities that can be used to make nuclear bombs.

Tehran claims that its nuclear program is for civilian use. At the same time, experts say that Iran's enriched uranium is much purer than the uranium required for commercial use, which puts it close to weapons-grade quality
