J&K Election: Voting Is On 18, 25 September, 1st October. In Haryana also on 1st Oct. Results On October 4

The Election Commission on Friday announced the dates for the Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana assembly elections. Assembly elections are going to be held in Jammu and Kashmir after 10 years. The last elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir in 2014. In fact, the Supreme Court had ordered elections in Jammu and Kashmir by 30 September 2024. This will be the first assembly election after the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Article 370 was removed from Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019. 

Assembly elections are going to be held for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir after it was made a union territory. The Election Commission has announced the election dates for voting on the 90 assembly seats of the state. The people of Jammu and Kashmir will vote on 18 September, 25 September and 1 October to elect their government for five years. Assembly elections will be held in 3 phases in the union territory which is sensitive from the security point of view. The results of the assembly elections will be declared on 4 October. Voting is to be held on 24 seats in the first phase, on 26 seats in the second phase and on 40 seats in the third phase.

In the last assembly elections of Jammu and Kashmir, voting was held in five phases. In the first phase on 25 November 2014, votes were cast for 15 out of 87 seats of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. In the second phase, voting was held on 2 December for 18 seats, in the third phase on 9 December for 16 seats and in the fourth phase on 14 December for 18 seats. In the fifth and final phase, voting was held on 20 seats on 20 December. The election results were announced on 23 December 2014.

Before announcing the dates of elections, the Chief Election Commissioner has drawn a blueprint of the election situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Rajiv Kumar said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir want to change the picture. Everyone is eager for the elections. The team had also visited Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. We were waiting for the weather to improve. We were waiting for the Amarnath Yatra to end. There are 87.09 lakh voters in Jammu and Kashmir at present. There are more than 20 lakh youth here. The final voter list will be released on 20th August. 

Regarding Haryana, he said that there are more than two crore voters in Haryana. 73 out of 90 seats are general. Voter list will be released on 27th August in Haryana. There are 20 thousand 269 polling stations in Haryana. There will be more than 150 model polling booths.  

Along with this, the Election Commission has also announced the dates for the elections in Haryana. There are 90 seats in the Haryana Assembly. Voting will be held in a single phase for all 90 seats in Haryana. Voting will be held on all 90 seats on October 1 and the election results will be declared after counting of votes on October 4. 
The Election Commission has responded to the non-announcement of elections in Maharashtra. The Chief Election Commissioner said in a press conference that elections have been announced in Jammu and Kashmir, so the decision to hold elections in Maharashtra has not been taken yet. Apart from this, many festivals are also going to come during this period. Pitru Paksha, Navratri, Dussehra-Diwali will fall, so they have not been announced yet.

In the press conference of the Election Commission regarding the by-elections, the CEC said that 47 by-elections are to be held. Monsoon is active in some states. There are 46 assembly and one Lok Sabha seats. A natural disaster has occurred in Wayanad. As soon as the weather and conditions become favorable, by-elections will be held on time. He said that elections will be held within a period of six months
