Joint Operation Yields Major Arms Recovery in Manipur

In a major counter-insurgency success, a joint team of the Assam Rifles and Kakching Police Commandos recovered a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition during a search operation in Thambal Chingya, Kakching district, Manipur.

Acting on credible intelligence, a 16-member task force launched a meticulously planned operation to locate a suspected insurgent hideout. The team conducted extensive area domination and search drills, leading to the recovery of several war-like stores.

Recovered items include:

1 AK-47 rifle

1 G3 rifle

1 modified single-barrel rifle

3 bolt-action single-barrel rifles

1 hand grenade

60 rounds of live ammunition of various calibers

Additional arms and related equipment were also seized during the operation.

All recovered materials have been handed over to Kakching Police Station for further investigation and necessary legal action.

Security forces have intensified vigil in the area to prevent any regrouping or movement of insurgent elements.
