Jugglery of Figures. No Relief For People: Opposition Hits Govt On Budget 2024

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for the 7th consecutive time. A glimpse of the coalition government was seen in the first budget of Modi Government 3.0.

The Finance Minister allocated 15 thousand crores to Andhra Pradesh and about 59 thousand crores for several projects in Bihar. If we talk about the salaried class, the government has increased the standard deduction from 50 thousand to 75 thousand in the new tax regime.

On one hand, while the ruling party is calling this budget a budget that fulfills the resolution of a balanced and developed India, the opposition parties have called the budget disappointing.

The opposition says that there is nothing in this budget that will provide relief to the public, it is only a jugglery of figures.

Samajwadi Party chief and Kannauj MP Akhilesh Yadav has targeted the government over the budget. He has said that big things are said on the basis of figures, special packages were given to Bihar and Andhra to save the government but was any big decision taken for the farmers in a state like Uttar Pradesh which is given by the Prime Minister? Akhilesh Yadav has alleged that the government has created a crisis for the farmers and has also increased unemployment in 10 years. He said that the central government is giving half-hearted jobs to the youth and the youth of the country want permanent jobs. He has asked whether reservation will be implemented in half-hearted jobs? Akhilesh has called the budget a bundle of hopelessness.

Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera has attacked the Modi government on social media platform X regarding the budget. He has called it a copy paste government. Pawan Khera has said that the impact of the Congress manifesto is visible in this budget of the Modi government. He has mentioned some points of the Congress manifesto and written that the Modi government should thank the Congress for the idea.

Meanwhile, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has termed the budget as disappointing and said, "I did not get to hear anything about the main issues related to the common people. The government has not taken any concrete steps to improve the income of the common people. He said that when it comes to serious income inequality, we see very little concern from the government."

BSP chief Mayawati has called the Union Budget disappointing. Mayawati has written on the social media platform that, "The budget is disappointing the poor, unemployed, farmers, women, hardworking and deprived people of the country except a handful of rich and wealthy people on the old pattern." Mayawati has written that the new government lacks the required reformist policy and intention to uplift the country's more than 125 crore weaker sections and provide them the basic facilities required for them.

On the other hand, Uddhav faction MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has called the budget the Prime Minister Government Bachao Yojana. She has said that the government has allocated funds for Bihar and Andhra Pradesh by not giving them special state status, while Maharashtra is being constantly ignored. She said that Maharashtra is a state from which the central government is earning money but is not giving money for infrastructure and development.

On the other hand, Trinamool Congress leader and MP Kalyan Banerjee has called it the Kursi Bachao budget. He has said that the Modi government has presented this budget for its allies so that Nitish and Naidu remain in the NDA.
