Kailashahar: Bangladeshi Minor Girl Shot Dead While Crossing The Border Illegally With Parents

The body of a minor was recovered within 150 yards of the barbed wire fence on the India-Bangladesh border in Kailashahar under Unakoti Distric of Tripura.

Perhaps, the Bangladeshi minor was shot dead by the BGB while crossing the border illegally to seek safe haven due to unrest in Bangladesh. 

The 16-year-old girl has been identified as Swarna Das. Her body has been kept at Kailashahar District Hospital Mortuary. Her autopsy will be conducted tomorrow.

On Monday the body of the minor girl has been recovered from the cut wire fence at Kalelkhandi border under Tilagaon panchayat under Irani police station in Kailasahar. 

In this regard, Irani Police Station OC Arunoday Saha said, I received an information from the Eastern Commandant of Latiapura BOP that the body of the minor has been found 50 meters west of the cut wire fence on the border. On the basis of that information, the police of Irani police station reached the spot along with Unakoti District Additional Superintendent of Police, DCM, SDPO and Forensic Team. 

There, following all legal procedures,  and kept the dead body in the mortuary of Unakoti District Hospital. 

According to the police sources, the Bangladeshi citizen has been identified as Swarna Das (16). She was shot dead by the BGB while illegally crossing the border into India on Sunday night. According to sources, Swarna was a resident of Juri area under Kulaura police station in Moulvibazar district in Bangladesh. 

The minor was trying to enter India illegally with the help of a broker along with her father Rebati Das and mother Rani Das. But, she died suddenly when he came under the notice of BGB. 

Sources claimed that the BGB fired as soon as it was spotted crossing the border illegally. In it, Swarna Das is shot and runs towards India to save her life. But, it fell to the ground after coming very close to the border. 

Meanwhile, her father and mother ran to Bangladesh to save their lives
