Kamala Harris Can Give A Tougher Fight to Donald Trump: Survey

Amid growing pressure on US President Joe Biden to step down from the presidential election, most Democratic Party leaders believe that Vice President Kamala Harris is the best candidate for the presidency.

A new survey by the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research has revealed that six out of 10 Democratic Party leaders think Kamala Harris is the most qualified candidate for the presidency.

Nearly two out of 10 leaders said they do not think Kamala Harris is the right candidate, while another two out of 10 said they do not know enough about her to say anything.

In view of Biden's poor performance in the debate held on June 27, many leaders of the Democratic Party, sometimes secretly and sometimes openly, believe that Harris should be made the Democratic Party's candidate in the presidential election instead of Biden.

These leaders believe that she can give a tougher fight to Donald Trump, the candidate of the oldest party Republican Party, than Biden. As far as Harris is concerned, she has been fully supporting Biden. She defended Biden even after his poor performance in the debate.

Oakley Graham, a Democratic Party leader in Greenwood, Missouri, said he was "very happy" with Biden's achievements during his tenure, but he felt he would be happier supporting Harris for the presidential nomination.

He said the time had come for a woman to become the country's president. Nearly three-quarters of Democratic Party leaders have a positive view of Harris, while they have a similar view of Biden. Seven out of 10 people have a positive view of him.

Democratic Party leader Shannon Bailey, who lives in Tampa, praised Biden's achievements as president, especially the infrastructure law and controlling inflation, and said he would be "fondly remembered."

However, she appeared to support Harris more than Biden. She said Harris, who is the vice president, seems more capable of handling the presidency. Bailey said, "It's not just about physical energy here, but also about being mentally strong."

"I think she has been and will continue to be a very strong supporter of abortion," said Thomas Mattman, a Democratic Party leader in Chico, California. Mattman, 59, said he believes Biden will not be able to defeat Republican candidate Donald Trump. Mattman said Harris would be a more effective candidate because Biden is unable to "pressurize" his opponent and take advantage of his weaknesses
