India’s batting maestro Virat Kohli has overtaken Pakistan’s Babar Azam in the latest ICC ODI batsmen rankings, climbing to fifth place with 725 rating points. The 37-year-old’s consistency has once again earned him a spot among the elite, while Babar slipped to seventh (709 points) after a recent dip in form.
Rohit Sharma continues to reign supreme atop the ODI rankings with 781 points, followed by Shubman Gill, who holds the fourth position (745 points).
In T20 rankings, India’s Tilak Varma dropped two places to fifth (761 points), while Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka (779), England’s Jos Buttler (770), and Rohit Sharma lead the pack. Shubman Gill has, however, surged eight places to 22nd, courtesy of solid knocks of 46 and 29 not out against Australia.
Among bowlers, New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy has leaped to third place after an eight-place rise, while teammate Mitchell Santner advanced five spots to 23rd.
In ODIs, Pakistan’s Salman Agha and Abrar Ahmed achieved career-best rankings following standout performances against South Africa and Sri Lanka. Salman’s unbeaten 105 off 87 balls and earlier 69 against South Africa propelled him 14 spots to 16th among batsmen. Abrar’s figures of 3/53 and 4/27 earned him a 17-place jump to 20th in the bowlers’ list, closing in on Shaheen Shah Afridi (16th).
Meanwhile, in Test team rankings, Australia remain on top with 124 rating points, followed by England (112) and South Africa (111). India occupies the fourth spot with 108 points.
