Kolkata Grapples with Flooding After Heavy Downpour

Kolkata and its surrounding areas were inundated on Tuesday following heavy rainfall from the early hours of September 23. Streets were waterlogged, leaving vehicles stranded and making commuting nearly impossible.

The extreme weather also disrupted public transportation. Metro and train services were affected as tracks became submerged, while several flights faced delays due to poor conditions at airports.

Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution and avoid non-essential travel until water levels recede and normalcy is restored.
