Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 5 On Monday: Here The Key Candidates, Seats

Voting for the fifth phase of Lok Sabha Election 2024 will be held on Monday, May 20. In the fifth phase, voting will be held on 49 seats in eight states and one union territory. 

In this phase, the reputation of five central ministers of the Bharatiya Janata Party is at stake. 

At the same time, on the other hand, former president of Congress Rahul Gandhi will also be on the test of voters. Apart from this, voting will be held on Monday itself for the by-election in one assembly seat. 


In the fifth phase of the seventh Lok Sabha elections, 14 seats of Uttar Pradesh, 13 of Maharashtra, seven of West Bengal, five seats of Bihar and Odisha, three seats of Jharkhand, one seat each of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will be voted. 

According to the Election Commission, a total of 695 candidates will be in the fifth phase. Voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm. A total of 379 seats in 23 states have been voted in from the first to the fourth phase. 66.95 percent voting has been done in the first four phases.    

 Elections will be held on these seats in the fifth phase 


Bihar: Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Saran, Hajipur.
Jharkhand: Chatra, Kodarma, Hazaribagh.

Maharashtra: Dhule, Dindori, Nashik, Palghar, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, Thane, Mumbai North, Mumbai North-West, Mumbai North-East, Mumbai North-Central, Mumbai South-Central, Mumbai South.

Odisha: Bargarh, Sundergarh, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Aska.

Uttar Pradesh: Mohanlalganj, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Jalaun, Jhansi, Hamirpur, Banda, Fatehpur, Kaushambi, Barabanki, Faizabad, Kaiserganj, Gonda.

West Bengal: Bangaon, Barrackpore, Howrah, Uluberia, Srirampur, Hooghly, Arambagh.

Jammu and Kashmir: Baramulla.

Ladakh: Ladakh.

In the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh-Lucknow, Union Minister Smriti Irani-Amethi, Union Minister Kaushal Kishore-Mohanlalganj, Union Minister Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma-Jalaun, Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti-Fatehpur Lok Sabha seat are in the electoral contest. 

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi is trying his luck in Rae Bareli. In front of Rahul Gandhi, BJP has given another chance to state government minister Dinesh Pratap Singh who was defeated by Sonia Gandhi here in 2019.

In the fifth phase, the Congress from the opposition alliance 'India' has fielded Rahul Gandhi in Rae Bareli, Tanuj Punia from Barabanki (reserved) and Pradeep Jain 'Aditya' from Jhansi. At the same time, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is competing with Ravidas Mehrotra, the current SP MLA from Lucknow. 

Union Minister Smriti Irani is in the election fray from Amethi parliamentary constituency, who won this seat by defeating Rahul Gandhi in 2019. Congress has fielded Kishori Lal Sharma to fight Irani.
