Another round of price hike pressure has come down on the common people as the price of cooking gas has been increased suddenly.
The latest revision in LPG prices is expected to directly affect households across the country, including the northeastern state of Tripura.
According to the new decision, the price of domestic LPG cylinders has been increased by ₹60 per cylinder. Earlier, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder was ₹978.40, which has now risen to ₹1038. At the same time, the price of LPG cylinders used for commercial purposes has also been increased by ₹114 per cylinder. The price of commercial cylinders has gone up from ₹2255 to ₹2369.
The sudden price hike is likely to put additional financial pressure on families in Tripura, particularly middle-class and lower-income households who are already struggling with the rising cost of essential commodities.
Cooking gas is an indispensable part of daily life, and any increase in its price directly affects household budgets.
The impact is also expected to be felt in the hospitality sector across the state, including small hotels, roadside eateries and restaurants in the capital city of Agartala and other towns.
Since these establishments rely heavily on commercial LPG cylinders, the increased cost may eventually lead to a rise in food prices as well.
Reacting to the development to The Tripurapost , a local resident said that earlier the price of domestic LPG gas was ₹978.40 but has now increased to ₹1038, marking a hike of ₹60 per cylinder. Similarly, the price of commercial cylinders has increased from ₹2255 to ₹2369. He expressed concern that such hikes are making it increasingly difficult for ordinary families to manage their monthly expenses.
With the prices of essential commodities already rising, many residents in Tripura fear that the latest increase in cooking gas prices will further intensify the financial strain on common people.
