LS Polls, 3rd Phase: Vote To Be Held in Four Seats of Assam on Tuesday

The election campaign to end at 6 pm today i. e on Sunday (May 5) for the third phase of voting in the Lok Sabha elections to be held on May 7.

At the same time, the candidates went door-to-door and appeal to the people for votes.

In this phase, voting will be held for 93 Lok Sabha seats of 12 states, which include 4 in Assam.

Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills has announced Dry Days in the district from 4:00 PM today i.e on May 5 till the end of voting on May 7, 2024.

 Dry Days have also been declared in Guwahati city by the Kamrup-Metro district administration.

In the 3rd phase of voting 47 candidates are in the fray for the four Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam.

Notably there are total 143 contestants in the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam.

In the third phase voting to be held in Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Guwahati Parliamentary Constituencies.

Elections to 10 Lok Sabha seats in Assam took place in the first two phases.

Assam recorded a 78.25 per cent polling percentage in the first phase  and 77.35 per cent voter turnout in the second phase of the polls.

In the third phase of polls  more than 81 lakh voters will exercise their franchise in Assam.
