Manipur CM Appealed To The People For Help To Restore Peace In The State

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh appealed to the people of the state to help his government in restoring peace. He said that all issues can be discussed politically and diplomatically. Conflict will not help in resolving issues. Addressing a program, he said that some mistakes have been made by his government as well. They are working on them.

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said, "We will also make mistakes. We are working on this by taking advice from others. Whatever is happening in the state is not right. However, the situation has become normal due to the efforts of many people." Let us tell you that 250 people were killed and thousands of people were rendered homeless in the violence that has been going on in Manipur since March 2023.

The Chief Minister said, "Let's hope the situation returns to normal. Let's pray to God for that. Let's try to restore peace without division between the hills and the valley. We are all Manipuris. We are all Indians." He further said, "All the main issues can be discussed through political and diplomatic means. Solutions have to be found. Nothing good comes out of conflict."

Responding to media queries on the bomb attacks at Kangchup Phayeng in West Imphal district on Tuesday night, CM Biren Singh said, "This is a very unfortunate incident. There was not a single incident of violence in the last five and six months. The police are investigating the matter. We will find out who was behind the attack. Necessary legal action will be taken." How did the violence start in Manipur? Violence between the Meitei community and the Kuki community in Manipur started on May 3, 2023 when the Tribal Students Union (ATSUM) organised a rally against the Manipur High Court order directing the government to consider including the Manipuri community in the Scheduled Tribe list. Violence has continued in the state since then, and the central government had to deploy paramilitary forces to bring the situation under control.
