Manipur: Militant Attack On CRPF. One Jawan Killed

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan has been killed in a gun attack by suspected militants in Mongbung village of Manipur's Jiribam district on Sunday morning.

Giving further information Manipur Police said, a policeman also got injured, he has been admitted to the hospital. The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Ajay Kumar Jha, a resident of Bihar. 

Police further said, he was shot in the head and was declared dead in the hospital. The other injured policeman is undergoing treatment, but he is out of danger.

Regarding this incident, another official has said that after Sunday's attack, additional security forces were deployed in Mongbung from the nearby hilly areas. 

He said that a vehicle of the security personnel was damaged in the gun attack. The policeman said that earlier on Saturday night also the sound of gunfire was reportedly heard in the village
