Manmohan Singh's Funeral On Saturday. "Govt Yet To Find Place For The Memorial"- Cong

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's last rites will be performed on Saturday at Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi. Congress has expressed its displeasure over this. General Secretary KC Venugopal said- The government could not even find land to build a memorial for the former PM. This is an insult to the country's first Sikh PM.

In fact, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had demanded from the central government that a memorial be built at the place where former PM Manmohan Singh is to be cremated. He told Modi-Shah on the phone that this would be a true tribute to the former PM.

Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh died on Thursday night. He was 92 years old. Manmohan was ill for a long time. He was brought to Delhi AIIMS at 8:06 pm after fainting at home. According to the hospital bulletin, he breathed his last at 9:51 pm.

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah visited his residence and paid tribute to him. Here, in the meeting of the Union Cabinet, tribute was paid to the former PM and a condolence resolution was passed.

Dr Singh's last journey will leave for Nigambodh Ghat from the AICC (All India Congress Committee) headquarters in Delhi at 9:30 am on Saturday, December 28. This information was given by Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal.

He said that Dr Singh's body will be brought from his residence to the AICC headquarters at 8 am on Saturday, where people and Congress workers will be able to pay tribute to him from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.

Earlier on Friday evening, a CWC meeting was held at the Congress headquarters in which tribute was paid to former PM Manmohan Singh.

Singh , the country's first Sikh PM, the fourth longest-serving PM,
became the 14th Prime Minister of the country in 2004. He served two terms in this post till May 2014. He was the country's first Sikh and the fourth longest-serving Prime Minister.

Due to the demise of Manmohan Singh, the central government has declared 7 days of national mourning. Also, all the programs scheduled for Friday have been cancelled.

Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Kharge went straight to Manmohan Singh's residence after reaching Delhi late night from Belgaum. Rahul wrote on X- I have lost my guide and guru.

Meanwhile, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting going on in Belgaum, Karnataka has been cancelled. Events related to Congress Foundation Day have also been cancelled. Party events will start after January 3.

Manmohan's body will be kept at the Congress headquarters tomorrow, where common people will pay tribute to him. According to the information, Manmohan's last rites will be performed tomorrow. His daughters will come to India from America by this evening. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) will decide the place where the last rites will be performed
