Mobile Internet Restored in Karbi Anglong Districts

The Assam government has lifted the temporary suspension on mobile Internet and data services in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts after the law-and-order situation improved significantly.

According to an official notification, authorities reviewed the ground situation and found no immediate threat to public peace or safety. As normalcy has largely returned to the affected areas, the Home & Political Department revoked its earlier order that had imposed restrictions as a precautionary measure.

Following the decision, all mobile service providers were instructed to restore Internet and data services. Connectivity was officially resumed from 8:00 am on December 28, 2025.

With services restored, residents and businesses in both districts can now freely access digital platforms, online communication, and mobile data services. Officials stated that the move reflects the government’s confidence in the stabilised security environment.
