Mobile Internet To Remain Banned In Assam on Sunday

Mobile internet services will remain suspended across the state of Assam on Sunday. The state government has decided to ban the internet.

According to the information, the Assam government has temporarily suspended mobile internet and data services across the state from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on September 29 in view of the state-level written examination for third class government posts

However, the government has clarified that voice call connectivity will remain on. During this time people will be able to talk on their phones. The government's directive is aimed at preventing any possible disruption during the examination.

All mobile network operators have been instructed to comply with this order, ensuring that the services are restored by 4:30 pm on the same day.

The official notification states that the government has taken this decision to conduct a free, fair and transparent written examination. The government has said that in the interest of securing the future of the youth of the state, everyone is requested to bear the inconvenience.

For not following the government order, action will be taken against the telephone operators under Section 223 of the Indian Justice Code, 2023 and under the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885.
