The monsoon session of Parliament is starting from today, ie Monday.
There is a possibility of uproar on issues like Operation Sindoor, India-Pakistan ceasefire, Donald Trump's claims on ceasefire and Bihar voter list. The opposition wants answers from the PM on all these issues.
The opposition, including the Congress, has given indications of this in the all-party meeting on Sunday.
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said that being the head of the country, it is the moral responsibility to answer the PM.
The monsoon session of Parliament will last for 32 days
The Monsoon Session of Parliament will run for 32 days from 21 July to 21 August. In total, 18 meetings will be held in 32 days and more than 15 bills will be introduced. There will be no Parliament proceedings on 13-14 August due to Independence Day celebrations. PM Modi will address the media before the House resumes.
The central government will introduce 8 new bills in the monsoon session, while 7 pending bills will be discussed. These include bills like Manipur GST Amendment Bill 2025, Income Tax Bill, National Sports Governance Bill.
On the first day, the report of the parliamentary committee formed on the new income tax bill will be presented in the Lok Sabha. The committee has given 285 suggestions. The 622-page bill will replace the 6-decade-old Income Tax Act 1961.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said- It is everyone's responsibility to run the House. The government is ready to discuss all issues. It will also give a proper answer to Donald Trump's claims on Operation Sindoor.
