NEET UG 2024: SC Deferred Hearing to July 18

The next hearing on 38 petitions regarding irregularities in the NEET case will now be held on July 18. The court has given time to the petitioners to respond to the affidavits of the Central Government and NTA.

The Chief Justice's bench said that the Center and NTA have filed their affidavits in response to the court's July 8 order. 

However, the bench has found that some petitioners have not yet received the affidavits of the Center and NTA. The next hearing of the case will be held on July 18.

NEET cases 40 to 45 were listed for hearing on July 11. After hearing case 33, CJI Chandrachud said that tomorrow the first hearing will be on NEET. 

After this, it was postponed till Monday. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta requested to hear the case on Wednesday. Currently, the court has postponed the next hearing till July 18.

The first hearing of the NEET case was held on July 8 in front of the CJI's bench in the Supreme Court. After this, the next hearing date was given on July 11. 

The court had given time till the evening of July 10 to NTA, Central Government, CBI and the petitioners demanding re-test to file affidavits. CBI, NTA and the Central Government filed their affidavits on July 10.

CBI investigation has revealed that candidates from Odisha, Bihar, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh had given the exam at a centre in Godhra, Gujarat. The accused had asked the candidates to select Gujarati language for the exam.
