Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Thursday underscored the indispensable role of education in shaping the nation’s future, asserting that “nothing is impossible with education.” He emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently highlighted education as the cornerstone of India’s evolving future.
Addressing the District-Level NIPUN FEST at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala, Dr. Saha urged teachers to embody positivity before young learners, noting that “the face is the index of the mind,” and a teacher’s smile can significantly influence a child’s willingness to learn. He remarked that while personal challenges are inevitable, educators must rise above them for the sake of the next generation.
Reflecting on the NIPUN Mission, launched nationally in 2021 and in Tripura in 2022, Dr. Saha hailed it as a visionary initiative aimed at strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy.

He highlighted that nearly 4,200 schools in Tripura have already come under the mission’s ambit, expressing hope that the coverage will expand to reach every corner of society.
He stressed that teachers remain the backbone of the NIPUN Tripura Mission, playing a critical role in ensuring the success of the National Education Policy introduced by Prime Minister Modi. Teaching through playful and interactive methods, he said, enables children to absorb concepts more effectively. Dr. Saha further emphasized the importance of identifying students who struggle and providing them with additional attention rather than neglecting them.
The Chief Minister lauded the dedication of educators, noting that their work often extends beyond official hours, and urged them to nurture students with the same commitment as they would their own children. This year marks four years of NIPUN Bharat and three years of NIPUN Tripura.
The event was also attended by Special Secretary of Education Raval H. Kumar, Director of Secondary Education N. C. Shama, and Director of Elementary Education Rajib Datta.
