The Indian team's problems seem to be increasing before the Manchester Test against England. On Sunday, batting all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy also got injured. He is reported to have a knee injury.
Before Nitish, there were reports of fast bowlers Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh being injured. Right-arm fast bowler Anshul Kamboj was included in the Indian team as their cover. However, BCCI has not said anything about the players' injuries.
Currently, the Indian team is trailing 1-2 in the 5-match series. The fourth match of the five-match Test series will start from July 23 at Old Trafford.
Akash Deep's back pain: News agency PTI wrote in a report-
Akash Deep is suffering from back pain. His availability is doubtful. At the same time, Arshdeep's chances of being available are low. Therefore, the selectors have decided to include Kamboj in the team.
Arshdeep Singh was practicing for the fourth Test on Thursday. While bowling, he injured himself while trying to stop the ball. Team India's assistant coach Ten Doeschate had told that Arshdeep got a cut on his hand while bowling. How deep this cut is will be known only after examination. If he needs stitches on his hand, then it will be difficult for him to practice.
Indian team reached Manchester. The fourth match of the Test series between India and England will be played at Manchester's Old Trafford Stadium from July 23. Both teams reached Manchester on Sunday. Before that the teams were practicing in Beckenham, London. The third Test was played at The Lord's Stadium in London. England won it by 22 runs and took a 2-1 lead in the series. India had won the second Test. Team India would like to level the series 2-2 by winning the fourth Test.
24-year-old Kamboj has been included in the team after his impressive performance in two matches for India-A against England Lions before the Test series. He took five wickets in four innings in Northampton and Canterbury.
Kamboj came into the limelight after taking all 10 wickets in an innings in a Ranji Trophy match against Kerala in Lahli last year. He is only the third bowler to achieve this feat in Ranji Trophy after Bengal's Premsu Chatterjee (1956-57) and Rajasthan's Pradeep Somasundaram (1985-86).
