Normalcy Yet To Restore in Lamding-Badarpur Hilly Route. More Trains Cancelled. Suffering For Tripura Continue

The Lamding-Badarpur hilly region has not returned to normal. The Northeast Frontier Railway has canceled and partially canceled more trains due to landslides. 

As a result, the suffering of the people of Tripura and Barak continues.

Train services on the Lamding-Badarpur hill route have been disrupted due to a massive landslide between Mupa-Dihakho stations (KM-51/1-2) in Lamding division. 

"Train services on the track have been completely suspended due to a large amount of soil, stones, boulders and other debris falling from the nearby hills onto the railway line. To ensure safety, the work of cleaning the affected area has started and adequate equipment and manpower have been deployed there."

This was announced by Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer, North East Frontier Railway, in a press statement. 

He added that help desks have been opened at Guwahati, Lamding, Silchar, Badarpur and Agartala stations for the convenience of passengers.

He said that several trains have been cancelled and partially cancelled due to landslides. 

Train number 12503 (SMVT Bengaluru – Agartala) Humsafar Express on July 11 and train number 12515 (Thiruvananthapuram Central – Silchar) Express on July 13 have been cancelled. 

Besides, train number 13173 (Sealdah – Sabroom) Kanchenjunga Express on July 8 will run up to Lumding and will be partially cancelled from Lumding to Sabroom.

He said that on July 7, train number 14620 (Ferozepur Cantt – Agartala) Express will run up to Lumding and will be partially cancelled from Lumding to Agartala. 

Similarly, on July 9, train number 13176 (Silchar – Sealdah) Kanchenjunga Express will start from Lumding and will be partially cancelled from Silchar to Lumding. 

On July 10, train number 12520 (Agartala – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus) Express will start from Kamakhya and will be partially cancelled from Agartala to Kamakhya.

Similarly, on July 10, Train No. 12508 (Silchar – Thiruvananthapuram Central) Express will depart from Guwahati and will remain partially cancelled from Silchar to Guwahati. 

On July 10, Train No. 14619 (Agartala – Ferozepur Cantt) Express will depart from Guwahati and will remain partially cancelled from Agartala to Guwahati.

Railway authorities have requested passengers to check the latest updates before travelling.
