The North East India Festival (NEIF) will be hosted in Singapore for the first time from September 19–21, 2025, at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event will showcase the rich culture, trade potential, and tourism attractions of India’s North Eastern Region (NER) while strengthening ties with ASEAN markets.
Organised by Trend MMS with support from the Indian High Commission in Singapore, the Ministry of External Affairs, and state governments of the North East, the festival also marks 60 years of India-Singapore diplomatic relations and coincides with the India-ASEAN Year of Tourism.
Key dignitaries including Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu and Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma will join Singaporean officials and ASEAN representatives. A business forum will host investor roundtables, enabling Singapore industrialists to explore collaborations with North East leaders.
From September 20–21, the main exhibition will feature 60 stalls with GI-certified products, agri-horti items, processed foods, handicrafts, and Assam tea tasting sessions. Visitors can enjoy traditional dances, a silk fashion show, and live performances representing the cultural diversity of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland, and the diaspora community in Singapore.
Musical highlights include Bollywood singer Zubeen Garg, Tripura rapper Borkung Hrangkhal, and Meghalaya bands such as Meba Offilia and Six Frets. Over 400 participants from the North East are expected to attend, making this the largest-ever Indian cultural showcase in Singapore.
The trade and tourism pavilion will promote GI-certified teas, coffees, spices, organic produce from Sikkim, textiles from Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, and signature tourism events like the Hornbill Festival, Cherry Blossom Festival, and Tawang Festival. Adventure tourism and unexplored destinations will also be spotlighted.
Chief organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta said Singapore offers an ideal platform for both cultural exchange and business networking, noting that the free-entry event is expected to attract strong local and international participation, paving the way for long-term partnerships between NER and ASEAN nations.
