In a power-packed three-day itinerary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar from September 13 to 15, launching and inaugurating an array of development projects collectively valued at over ₹70,000 crore. The tour underscores the Centre’s focus on connectivity, energy security, cultural pride, and grassroots empowerment, spanning from the North-East to the Gangetic plains.

Day 1: Mizoram, Manipur & Assam

PM Modi will begin his journey in Aizawl, Mizoram, where he will unveil projects worth ₹9,000 crore. The highlight will be the inauguration of the Bairabi–Sairang Rail Line, Mizoram’s first direct link to the Indian Railways network, a landmark project with 45 tunnels and over 140 bridges. He will also flag off three new trains, including a Rajdhani Express connecting Aizawl to Delhi. Major road projects, a new LPG bottling plant, residential schools, and a Khelo India sports facility will also be launched.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister will move to Churachandpur and Imphal in Manipur, laying the foundation stone for projects worth ₹7,300 crore and inaugurating initiatives worth ₹1,200 crore, including highways, IT parks, new government complexes, and women-centric Ima markets.

In the evening, he will arrive in Guwahati, Assam, to participate in the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, paying tribute to the cultural icon whose songs continue to bind Assam with the nation.

Day 2: Assam’s Industrial Push

On September 14, PM Modi will return to Assam to launch projects exceeding ₹18,500 crore. These include a medical college in Darrang, the ambitious Guwahati Ring Road Project, and a bridge over the Brahmaputra. At Numaligarh, he will inaugurate India’s first large-scale bioethanol plant in the North-East and lay the foundation of a Polypropylene Plant, expanding Assam’s petrochemical footprint.

Day 3: West Bengal & Bihar

The third and final day will begin in Kolkata, West Bengal, where the Prime Minister will inaugurate the 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference-2025, a top-level military and strategic dialogue themed “Year of Reforms – Transforming for the Future.”

In Purnea, Bihar, PM Modi will inaugurate the new terminal of Purnea Airport and roll out development projects worth nearly ₹36,000 crore. Key announcements include Bihar’s largest-ever private power project (3×800 MW thermal plant at Bhagalpur, ₹25,000 crore), the Kosi–Mechi River Link Project, major new railway lines, and the launch of a Vande Bharat Express and Amrit Bharat trains.

He will also establish the National Makhana Board, a long-awaited boost for Bihar’s makhana farmers, who contribute 90% of India’s production. Additionally, he will inaugurate India’s first Sex-Sorted Semen Facility in the eastern region, hand over PMAY homes, and release ₹500 crore in funds under the rural livelihood mission.

A Tour of Development & Vision

From railways piercing Mizoram’s hills to petrochemical plants in Assam, from defense strategy sessions in Kolkata to makhana farmers in Bihar, the Prime Minister’s visit is being seen as a synchronised development roadmap that ties together infrastructure, culture, and social welfare.

The multi-state tour not only reflects the government’s push for last-mile connectivity and regional growth but also showcases an intent to bridge gaps between India’s farthest corners and its mainstream development narrative.
