Northeast States Are On High Alert As Flood Situation Worsen. IAF Deployed Helicopter

The situation is continuously getting worse due to heavy rains in the north-eastern states of the country . Monsoon has reached the entire country and it is raining almost everywhere, but the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the north-eastern states. Indian Air Force (IAF) already deployed helicopters to execute challenging airlift in Assam.

Heavy rains are expected in Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. The situation in Assam has already worsened due to heavy rain. 

In such a situation, the forecast of the Meteorological Department is going to increase everyone's concern.

The flood situation in Assam worsened as it claims two more lives during last 48 hours. At the same time, more than 2.62 lakh people have been affected by the floods in 12 districts of the state. 

This information has been given in an official bulletin. It is said that the five major rivers of the state, including the Brahmaputra, are flowing above the danger mark at two places. 
Another government statement said that Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the situation in his Lok Sabha constituency Dibrugarh. 

Dibrugarh has been badly affected by the floods. The district headquarters town has been submerged for several days. With the death of two more people in Dhemaji, the number of people who lost their lives due to floods, storms and landslides this year has increased to 44, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) bulletin said. 

A total of 2,62,186 people have been affected by floods in Kamrup, Karimganj, Tinsukia, Golaghat, Dhemaji, Majuli, Cachar, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, Kokrajhar and Jorhat districts. Due to floods, 1,33,945 people were affected in seven districts of the state on Saturday. 

At least 36 revenue areas and 671 villages in Assam are still affected by floods. Dhemaji district of the state is the worst affected by the floods. 69,252 people have been affected by the floods here. After this, 61,895 people in Cachar district and 45,281 people in Tinsukia are facing the crisis due to the natural disaster. 

The rivers flowing above the danger mark include Brahmaputra in Dibrugarh and Nematighat, Jia Bharali in Sonitpur, Beki in Barpeta and Kushiyara Nadikhou in Karimganj. 2,593 people of Assam have taken shelter in 44 relief camps, while eight other relief distribution centers are also operational
