Officials Must Act As Bridge Between People And Govt: CM Manik Saha

"The state government is working to fill up the vacant posts gradually on priority basis. Public officials act as a bridge between the people and the government. Officials have a special role in implementing various important projects of the central and state governments"

This was said by the Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha while participating in the appointment letter distribution ceremony of the newly appointed TCS and TPS Grade Two officers at Muktdhara Auditorium in Agartala on Saturday. 

Chief Minister Dr. Saha said on the occasion that our government works with a transparent approach. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also running the government with transparency. There was a time when procession meetings were frequent in the state and there was a mindset that it was impossible to get a government job without political connections. In this case, the prime minister emphasized on excluding the interview process for job recruitment and making it only on the basis of written examination. Basically, he has taken this initiative to ensure transparency. 

The Chief Minister said that many are waiting for promotion as the case is pending in the court. And keeping this under observation, the government has decided to give a one-time promotion. One of the goals of the current government is to respect people and talent. Recruitment process till 2022 has been completed under TPSC. Earlier, due to communication problems, transfers had to be approached by higher authorities. But now the communication system has improved significantly. We are also working to fill up the vacant posts in a phased manner on priority basis.

The Chief Minister has also highlighted the importance of training and experience of officers. He said that the state government will arrange to send officials to Mysore for training. Because training is very important. Officials are the bridge between the people and the government. There are many schemes of Central Government and Tripura Government It is also important to have detailed knowledge of these projects and coordinate with other departments.

Dr. Saha informed that till now 1742 candidates have been recruited through TPSC, and steps have been taken to fill 745 vacancies.

He also said that the government has also taken steps to fill up 916 constable vacancies under Tripura Police (Home Department). Recruitment of 67 Veterinarians (Group-B) and 439 ARDD Assistants (Group-C) in ARDD Department is ongoing
