There is outrage across the country over the alleged irregularities in other competitive examinations including paper leak in the NEET-UG exam 2024 to be taken for admission in medical colleges.

While in the first week of the Parliament session, opposition parties created a ruckus over the NEET-UG exam leak case. On Friday, the proceedings were adjourned several times in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, with the Congress and other opposition parties demanding a debate on the NEET-UG controversy.

During this, the opposition pressed for the acceptance of its adjournment notice demanding a debate on the NEET-UG controversy. Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi tried to raise the NEET-UG issue, but the Speaker rejected the request, saying that when the House has to take up the motion of thanks on the President's address, there is no provision for discussion on any other issue.

During this time, there was a strong protest during the debate in Rajya Sabha and opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge also came to the well of the House along with fellow members. Vice President and Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said that he was hurt by Kharge's act. However, later the opposition members walked out of the House.

On the other hand, Kharge said that he is trying to draw the attention of the government to the concerns of lakhs of students who appeared in the examination and now the CBI is investigating the allegations of paper leak.

On this, Health Minister JP Nadda said that he had hoped that his innings as the leader of the House in Rajya Sabha would begin with happiness, but the way democratic traditions are being put at stake, an attempt is being made to hold the House hostage.
