Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar told the National Assembly on Friday that U.S. President Donald Trump’s recently unveiled 20-point Gaza peace plan does not reflect the consensus draft proposed by Muslim nations.
Dar said that during a September 22 meeting with Trump, eight Muslim-majority countries — including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, and Indonesia — had submitted a draft calling for a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and a roadmap toward a two-state solution.
“The plan that has been released is not the same as ours. Alterations have been made,” Dar said, insisting that Pakistan’s policy remains anchored in the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state co-existing with Israel.
Trump’s blueprint, published on Monday, proposes a staged Israeli pullback tied to the release of hostages, Hamas disarmament, and the formation of a transitional technocratic administration in Gaza under international oversight. A “Board of Peace” led by Trump himself and involving foreign figures such as former UK prime minister Tony Blair would supervise the transition.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has welcomed the plan, while Hamas has signaled opposition to its disarmament provisions. Trump has given Hamas until Sunday to respond.
Dar, however, stressed that Pakistan and its partners were assured by Trump that the U.S. would block any Israeli annexation of the West Bank, a demand long pressed by Israel’s far-right coalition partners. He underlined that Islamabad would only support a settlement that guarantees Palestinian rights, immediate humanitarian relief, and a credible path to peace.
