Pakistan Team To Come In India For Junior Hockey World Cup

Pakistan team will come to India for Junior Hockey World Cup. Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh said on Saturday, Pakistan has agreed to send its junior team for the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Junior Hockey World Cup to be held in Tamil Nadu.

The World Cup will be played in Madurai and Chennai in Tamil Nadu from November 28 to December 10. On the other hand, the Pakistan team had refused to come to India for the Senior Hockey Asia Cup being held in India. The government there had withdrawn its name due to security reasons.

After Pakistan's withdrawal from the Hockey Asia Cup, there was uncertainty about Pakistan's participation in the Junior Hockey World Cup. However, now after confirmation, the tournament will be held on schedule. India and Pakistan have been placed in Pool B along with Chile and Switzerland.

Regarding Pakistan's participation in the tournament, General Secretary Bhola Nath said that he had a talk with Pakistan Hockey Federation. They will send their junior team to India for the tournament.

Nath told the media, "Pakistan has agreed to send its junior hockey team to play in the World Cup, which will be held in Chennai and Madurai."

Indian hockey legend Aslam Sher Khan said on Pakistan not coming to Asia Cup, the team should have participated in the tournament. There is nothing to fear in India. The country is very good in terms of sports and culture. There is no question of lapse in security here.

Last week, the Indian government allowed India to play in multinational tournaments with Pakistan in the new sports policy. It said that Indian athletes and teams will be allowed to participate in international events that also feature teams or players from Pakistan. However, India will not participate in any tournaments held in Pakistan, as well as there will be no bilateral series or matches between the two countries.

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, there is protest against India playing with Pakistan in the Cricket Asia Cup. Pakistan even withdrew from the Hockey Asia Cup being hosted by India in Rajgir, Bihar. A question was also raised in the Lok Sabha in the Monsoon Session regarding this. The Indian team of former cricketers also refused to play with Pakistan in the World Championship of Legends (WCL).

Relations between India and Pakistan became tense after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which terrorists shot dead 26 tourists on April 22.
