Panchayat Polls, Tripura: Congress Candidates Submits Nomination

Congress nominees of the West Tripura Zilla Parishad submitted nomination papers to the District Magistrate through a rally on Monday for the upcoming Three-tier Panchayat Elections. 

Tripura Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha and others were present in the rally.

On this day, Ashish Kumar Saha said that "the candidates  of the Indian National Congress are submitting their nominations to the zilla parishads, gram panchayats and nagar panchayats. Congress-backed candidates will file their nominations in the remaining six districts, including the western district, today".

He alleged that the ruling BJP is trying to turn the panchayat elections into a farce. Congress has stepped in to thwart their plans. "Congress-backed candidates are submitting their nominations with people's blessings" he said
